Google Unleashes A New Panda Update

The most important words webmasters will hear all week! Google is giving its search engine algorithm another makeover, with the latest update rollout just being initiated.

Google claims that this new Panda update should help small to medium sized websites.

Webmaster Trends Analyst at Google, Pierre Far, explains in a post that the update will only affect some 3 to 5 percent of search queries, and that too depending on location:

“Earlier this week, we started a slow rollout of an improved Panda algorithm, and we expect to have everything done sometime next week. Based on user (and webmaster!) feedback, we’ve been able to discover a few more signals to help Panda identify low-quality content more precisely. This results in a greater diversity of high-quality small- and medium-sized sites ranking higher, which is nice.”

Nice indeed!

According to the company, this new update will allow for much more precise results — meaning high quality websites, small or medium, all have a chance to shine by being promoted in the spotlight. Should even the playing field, only if by a little.

The last Panda update that was confirmed by Google came towards the end of May this year, though the search engine giant also made a few additional changes here and there since then.

But this one is the major refresh, the results of which should be evident in the days to come.

If any of your blogs or websites were struck (or negatively affected) by the last algorithm update, and you’ve made some alterations, then chances are that you should see some improvements in traffic in the next couple of weeks.
