WordPress Administration/Design Strategist
Location: Irvine, CA
Duration: One-year+
Kelly Technology is recruiting for a WordPress Administrator/Design Strategist to help our customer manage 30 different websites, assist with site creation theme application and customization, problem solving, content creation, and end-user training.
The ideal candidate would have strong knowledge of WordPress and a consultative background that would allow them to engage with key stakeholders and functional users on the design strategy and process.
This position is primarily remote with occasional travel on-site for monthly meetings.
Description
Our client is seeking a WordPress administrator to assist with managing a WordPress multisite that houses 30+ websites. This contractor will be a front-line contact for functional users, assisting with site creation, theme application and customization, problem solving, content creation, and end-user training. A major forthcoming project will include migrating existing WordPress sites to a new multisite host and making changes to account for differences in available themes, plugins, and configuration on the new host.
Tasks and responsibilities

Work directly with functional clients to identify high-level goals and requirements for WordPress site design and implementation.

Work with functional clients, the Communications team, and the WordPress hosting vendor to research, plan, and implement solutions to design and feature challenges, including vetting WordPress plugins and themes.

Modifying layouts and styling through use of intermediate HTML and CSS.

Migrate existing WordPress sites to a new WordPress host, accounting for and adapting to differing themes, plugins, and configuration.

Provide end user training to functional clients to support self-management of WordPress site contents.

Provide end user troubleshooting, in consultation with the Communications team and WordPress hosting vendor.
Required skills

Strong communication skills

Ability to gather requirements for new websites or website improvements

Knowledge of WordPress multisite administration

WordPress user and role management

? Theme and plugin vetting and management

Familiarity with common website administration principles, particularly as they apply to
WordPress

Comfort with principles related to single-sign on, domain-based routing, DNS, and SSL certificate management desired

Ability to design and implement WordPress sites

Creation of pages, posts, and other content elements, per client specifications

? Configuration of navigation elements, headers, footers, and widgets
? Application of basic styling adjustments via HTML and CSS
? Knowledge of PHP, Javascript, and web development desirable
