The Vice President of Social Media will be an instrumental member of the Company Broadcasting team.  This role will develop and execute the social media strategy in order to drive revenue as well as to enhance the Company brand.

This role is responsible for the overall management and strategy for all social media efforts for Company Broadcasting.  The position manages a team of five direct reports, including show producers, managers and project managers.  This individual will also have oversight for external agencies.

The Vice President of Social Media will oversee the sourcing of content in order to program to over 300 social media profiles across all major platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Tumblr and others.  Responsibilities include conceiving, directing and managing digitally driven marketing programs to reach online audiences, as well as representing the Company brand and voice across the social landscape.  This individual will provide custom digital content extensions for sponsorship opportunities and will deliver content and manage relationships with online partners, influencers and agencies.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create and articulate a strategic vision for social media for Company Broadcasting and capture audience attention to create buzz in the space
  • Drive news coverage for social campaigns through organic outreach and collaboration with Publicity teams
  • Serve as a key creative point for all social assets and campaigns and push the envelope in terms of innovation and what is possible
  • Manage a team of direct reports and inspire them to innovate and think in new and relevant ways
  • Work directly with talent and producers to maximize social campaigns for all COMPANY shows
  • Develop and manage programs to engage online fans of Company shows and convert them to evangelists for our brands to encourage viewership and increase ratings
  • Originate, direct and implement creative viral marketing concepts, taking advantage of ever changing technologies
  • Manage both internal and external communication regarding social media analytics from cross platform efforts with an eye toward ever increasing visibility in the competitive linear and 24/7 social media landscape
  • Select and manage vendors to best deliver on social media programs
  • Set standards for innovation for all shows, show talent and producers
  • Manage relationships and educate others on social media best practices to production partners, executive producers, talent and talent representatives
  • Ideate & support multiple sales packages with cross platform social media integrations
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial business deals and encourage partners to support Company shows from an organic perspective
  • Develop year-round social media strategies and embedded production partnerships for joint venture programming and competition shows
  • Successfully work with and support all Company departments, divisions, partners, and studios
  • Lead digital/social media efforts at press events (Award Shows/Academy Events, etc.)
