Storyteller - creative content producer

Not every great storyteller is a great writer. Sometimes they’re great artists, or photographers, or documentarians. Sometimes they’re just great talkers, speakers, presenters. But what every great storyteller has is an innate curiosity to dive deeper, to get beneath the surface and find that intricate detail that will bring people along for the ride.

Pure Watercraft has stories to tell. We are creating revolutionary electric marine propulsion to ensure a future where boating will be clean, quiet, and powerful.  Our system can replace millions of unreliable, expensive, and dirty gas marine motors worldwide. The platform also unlocks totally new opportunities for users to interact with their boats, enhancing performance, navigation, efficiency, comfort, safety, maintenance, and security.

As our Storyteller you will build a deep understanding of our target customers, discovering opportunities to highlight and strengthen their connection to our product, brand, and team.  Through authentic visual and written content you will help prospective customers understand and identify with the benefits of our revolutionary boating experience. Your creative narratives will elevate our sales and marketing, our brand, our products, and our employee engagement.

You are innovative and results-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with a keen eye for design. Responsibilities:

Content Production:

  • uncovering, capturing and building storytelling assets for each organizational function (case studies, social marketing, leadership keynotes, etc.)

  • develop, maintain, and communicate brand guidelines within the company

  • create and edit all customer-facing content, whether it’s interviewing an industry expert, writing a white paper or explaining a new feature in a blog post

  • ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience

  • maintain a consistent voice when writing on behalf of the company

  • convey passion and excitement for the business or products through your writing

  • conceptualize and create eye-catching images and videos for social media and beyond

  • document key events, milestones, and customer interactions

Social Media:

  • lead social strategy and execution across marketing campaigns and product launches

  • create exciting and engaging written and visual content for the social media handles of Pure Watercraft, with emphasis on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram

  • manage the publishing calendar, social objectives, messaging, sourcing or creating the visual images and videos for these posts, aligning to the content marketing strategy

  • monitor topics, threads and discussions of company, product and brand on news, Internet and social media

  • research, identify and develop relationships with key influencers from the boating community

  • propose topics, themes, formats and content that will engage audiences on social media and support our product marketing strategy

  • curate relevant content to reach the audience most likely to engage with our product

  • grow engagement, reach, and impact through proactive campaigns and management

  • develop and connect meaningfully with fans over and over again

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of work experience in social and/or digital marketing

  • a great eye for design

  • a passion for story, narrative structure and the creative arts

  • excellent English language skills and the ability to express yourself verbally and in writing

  • a proven ability to translate messages across divisions, languages and cultures

  • a skillful understanding of data reporting and analytics

  • the courage to try things that have never been tried before

  • the salesmanship to sell things that have never been tried before, to internal and external audiences

  • a passion for connecting like-minded customers with the company's mission

  • a deeply authentic approach to linking the personal and the professional

  • ability and attitude to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives

Desired Extras:

  • experience building brands in fast paced environments

  • proficiency in media distribution and channel insights (platforms and channels online, market trends), measurement (analytics and benchmarks), and values-driven brand marketing)

  • product marketing experience - especially groundbreaking technology products

  • experience partnering with and managing creative teams and agencies

  • expertise in software tools for creating visual content (ie. Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro etc.)

  • professional video production experience
