Experis - A ManpowerGroup is currently engaged with one the industry leaders and we are assisting the hiring manager to identify a WordPress Developer.
Position Details:
Title: WordPress Developer
Location: Baltimore, MD (remote flexibility)
Duration: Full-time Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Assist in defining requirements for each development project.
- Build full featured WordPress themes and plugins.
- Work with third-party APIs to enhance website functionality.
- Maintain and develop features for several custom applications.
- Conduct code reviews and internal reviews
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of web development experience with WordPress theme and plugins.
- 5+ years of PHP experience.
- 5+ years of JavaScript experience.
- 5+ years of HTML/CSS experience.
- Familiarity with Git.
- Familiarity with modern front-end development stacks (Gulp, Sass, task runners, preprocessors, etc.)
- Understanding of WordPress best practices.
- Strong familiarity with object-oriented code (particularly in PHP and JavaScript).
- Understanding of REST APIs.
- Proficiency with MySQL or other flavors of SQL.
- Experience balancing short-term vs. long-term needs, business needs, and customer needs.
- Experience working with a team of front-end and back-end developers and designers.
- Active collaborator (willing to share ideas and teach/learn from others).
- Experience conducting code reviews.
- Familiarity with security best practices.
- Experience refactoring code for increased performance.
Preferred Skills:
- An eye for UI/UX best practices.
- Experience with React JavaScript library or ability to learn.
- Experience with the jQuery framework, Bootstrap, and CSS Grid.
Bonus:
- Experience with Node.
- Experience working with AWS.
- Experience working with Jenkins and configuring automated deployment.
- Experience working with NoSQL.
- Experience with Scrum.
