The Job

The Sr Digital Marketing Specialist-SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is responsible for developing, managing, executing and analyzing Ace’s SEO marketing program to increase Ace’s ranking on and traffic driven from all major search engines and other third-party sites. 

Specifically, there are 4 key responsibilities for this role to own and lead:

  • Drive the strategy, execution and analysis of Ace’s SEO program to increase natural search ranking and organic traffic and revenue.
  • Optimize site structure, content and copy based on SEO best practices.
  • Manage relationships with search engines and SEO agency partners.
  • Lead other digital marketing or acehardware.com initiatives or projects as directed by the Digital Marketing Manager

What you’ll do

Leads strategy, execution and analysis of Ace’s SEO program to support all consumer facing digital properties

  • Develops and executes annual, quarterly, monthly and seasonal SEO plans to improve SERP ranking and maximize traffic and revenue (both online and omni)
  • Effectively manages program through planning, forecasting and reporting
  • Executes detailed performance analysis to what’s working and areas for improvement/change

Leads implementation of onsite SEO including:

  • Keyword research
  • Site copy and content creation
  • Page metadata
  • Link usage
  • Redirects
  • Page load speed
  • Use of schema.org structured data
  • Page URL structure
  • Mobile friendliness
  • Site index and robots.txt files
  • Identifies IT projects needed for SEO improvements

Leads implementation of offsite SEO including:

  • Consulting with other content producing teams to optimize blog content, press releases, social media, and other consumer facing content
  • External link building efforts

  • Consults with associates executing day-to-day ecommerce activities (ecommerce merchants, digital marketing specialists, etc.) to ensure SEO best practices are used and implemented.
  • Leads effort to support and execute the Consumer Marketing Plan and acehardware.com promotion plan (ex. Famous for Four, Best Brands, key online categories etc.) through SEO.
  • Manages agency and partner relationships relative to SEO.
  • Works cross functionally to support other digital marketing channels (Affiliate, SEO, video), acehardware.com creative and promotions, email and other digital initiatives or projects when needed.
  • Continually monitors search engine algorithm trends, competitors, industry trends, best practices, new and emerging technologies to best position this role and Ace for success.

Experience and Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Search Engine Optimization/Digital Marketing required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.  Master’s degree a plus
  • Documented experience managing robust SEO programs
  • Documented experience in SEO focused copywriting and content creation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and result oriented
  • Documented ability to proactively make recommendations and successfully implement plans
