The Senior Analyst, Health Care Compliance (HCC) is primarily responsible for the facilitation of processes designed to ensure the Company meets statutory and regulatory requirements relating to health care fraud and abuse; as well as advertising and promotion laws governing the Companies commercial and scientific activities.  This position supports the alignment of the Companies HCC activities within the overall organization and reinforces the message that compliance is a Company priority and has access to the resources needed to assure implementation of an effective compliance program.   The individual will advise and engage with business partners, with primary focus on US Sales, Operations, and Training and Communication providing sustained HCC support. At the direction of the Manager, Compliance Program Management, the Lead analyst will coordinate support and resources with the HCC Global Operations Group to ensure ongoing effectiveness of the HCC program. The individual is also responsible for ensuring the implementation of internal controls so that they are capable of preventing and detecting significant issues or patterns of fraud and abuse.  Additionally, this role will support harmonization efforts within the Medical Device HCC&P organization supporting initiatives as directed. 

Additionally, and more specifically, key responsibilities of this role include partnering with the US Sales and Operations organizations to:• Reinforce compliance principles and embrace ownership to make compliant decisions• Advise internal stakeholders of potential compliance risk areas, ensuring proper escalation of complex issues• Act as a consultant and reviewer for business activities that involve HCC considerations, including reviewing and approving transactions within systems, including:

o Totality requests (sponsorships, clinical activities, etc.)

o  Requests for Fee for Service arrangements

o Ad Board requests

• Ensure implementation of HCC policies and procedures • Support the deployment of HCC training and communication focused on commercial activities to enhance employee awareness and compliance with requirements• Conduct or facilitate testing and monitoring;  supporting corrective actions to close gaps identified during audits, assessments, testing and monitoring• RSupport financial disclosures under federal and state laws, as well as voluntary disclosures This is not an exhaustive, comprehensive listing of job functions.  May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree is required. • Requires 5+ years of business experience; Current status as a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP®) or Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC®) desirable .• A minimum of two years of experience in health care compliance, government contracts compliance or a related area, such as, finance or commercial contracting; or commensurate experience in application of compliance polices to business preferred.• Experience developing and implementing one or more elements of a compliance program; preferred;• Experience working as an HCC or GCC Officer or Manager; preferred• Experience working in a matrix environment; required• Knowledge of: (1) anti-kickback and false claims laws; (2) transactional and compliance reporting laws and regulations; and (3) Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act promotional requirements; preferred. • Experience with project management in a matrixed business organization is preferred.• Knowledge of commercial sales and marketing practices for healthcare products and services and the compliance risks preferred. 

Skills and abilities:  • Ability to support rapidly changing business models across multiple companies and sectors required.• Strong cross company/sector collaboration and change management required• Ability to advise on complex selling and promotional arrangements, while working towards solutions to streamline process and drive compliant growth required• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and analytical skills required• Broad business experience and a proven ability to influence business decisions and business partners required• Proven track record in delivering results, self-starter and ability to manage complexity required• Deal well with ambiguity and new areas required• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information is required• Demonstrates strong organizational, process and interpersonal skills required• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex priorities independently required• Experience with cross company/sector collaboration and change management

Travel: Occasional travel required, depending on business need (~ 15-20%).
