Universal Consulting Services, Inc. (UCS) is seeking a 100% REMOTE Software Developer to join our team supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) located in Fort Detrick, MD. The person in this role will support software development efforts in transitioning the DHA from the current Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) legacy system to LogicCole, the refreshed DMLLS environment rolling all legacy applications into a single environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for researching, planning, designing, developing and/or modifying software systems (e.g., custom, COTS, GOTS).
• Conduct impact analysis for software changes.
• Produce detailed specifications and write software code.
• Work closely with business analysts, designers, and subject matter experts to understand functional requirements.
• Conduct unit tests and documents findings.
• Writes interfaces and conversion routines leveraging the application programmatic interface (API). Extend applications by using applicable application tools.
• Work with development leads to design solutions (both user interface and business tier.
• Troubleshoot development issues as well as assist with the diagnosis and corrections within the production system.
• Utilize support services (Jira, Confluence, Git) to ensure that all work is authorized, tracked, versioned and documented.
• Perform general programming to implement corrections or enhancements to application software in the health area.
