Job Purpose
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring Groendyke Transport’s social media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, maintain a positive reputation and increase recruitment.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
• Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
• Assist with crisis management, negative reviews and news coverage
• Moderate user-generated content and messages appropriately, based on our company and community policies
• Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of Groendyke’s social content
• Create and implement social media marketing plan and editorial calendar
• Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices and then acting on that information
• Work closely with recruiting department to devise, implement and execute social media recruiting strategies
• Collaborate with other departments to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
• Work with the media and recruiting departments to ensure content is informative and appealing
• Encourage greater social media participation
• Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
• Track and analyze analytics reports to gain insight on traffic, demographics and effectiveness
• Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network
• Stay current with social media trends and best practices
• Research opportunities for new social marketing platforms and select/adapt current processes to fit company needs

• Education and Experience Requirements

• Understanding of social media KPI’s, web traffic metrics and SEO
• In-depth understanding of social media platforms with ability to navigate each
• Familiarity with web design and publishing
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s Degree

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook applications
• Social Media Platforms as outlined above
