PenFed is hiring a Senior Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Analyst at our McLean, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to drive organic traffic to PenFed.org and related/affiliate digital properties managed by PenFed.  This position will require strong analytics skills and technical capability.  The incumbent will collaborate with different stakeholders (Consumer Banking, Mortgages, and Foundation) and business units across PenFed to optimize our landing pages, ensuring that the content is search friendly across web and mobile experiences.

  • Significantly improve searcher experience to increase organic traffic.
  • Provide recommendations and execute strategies for site optimizations, in alignment with SEO goals.
  • Influence key initiatives as a primary stakeholder including curated content, mobile performance, on-page improvements and link structure optimization.
  • Collaborate with digital teams and compliance on content creation (articles, images & videos), focused on aligning to high volume keywords.
  • Gather and analyze data from multiple platforms.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and analyze gaps in features and performance.
  • Research keyword recommendations with a focus on likelihood of ranking.
  • Continually monitor SEO KPIs and maintain dashboards across all lines of business.
  • Effective experience with local search practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of search engine algorithm updates and keep current on the latest trends in organic search.
  • Endeavor to make the SEO team a center of excellence for PenFed.org.

Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, or any other related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience as an SEO or in a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Technical SEO best practices.
  • Knowledge of SEO Key Performance Indicators & Web Vitals metrics.

Proficiencies

Required:

  • Webmaster tools such as:  Google Search Console and/or Bing Webmaster Tools
  • SEO research tools such as:  SEMrush and/or Siteimprove
  • Analytics tools such as:  Adobe Analytics and/or Google Analytics
  • Desktop applications such as:  Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Recommended:

  • SEO platforms such as:  BrightEdge and/or Conductor
  • Web crawlers such as:  DeepCrawl and/or Screaming Frog
  • Content management systems such as:  Adobe Experience Manager and/or WordPress

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees.

 

Licenses and Certifications

There is no licenses and/or certifications required for this position.
 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

 

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
