Description

Senior Moderator / Qualitative Consultant – Pharma Sector (location flexible)

Our Health practice excels at evaluating new pharmaceutical and biotech products; analyzing the best opportunities for penetrating marketplaces; improving health insurer membership engagement; and helping health systems understand how their customers are responding to healthcare reform. We leverage quantitative and qualitative research solutions, to address a variety of healthcare market research needs. Recently, the demand for qualitative solutions among pharmaceutical clients has been steadily increasing

Market Strategies International recently merged with Morpace (another Detroit-based research firm) to form a new company under the ownership of new equity partner, STG. With the creation of larger, more expansive company (branding in process!), we are expecting investment and growth in the Health arena.

All of this is creating very exciting times for us, and we’re looking for at least two new senior moderators to come join us on our journey.

Who are you?

  • You’re a versatile and innovative moderator who’s comfortable with the nuances of qualitative research involving medical topics. You’ve had experience with traditional and emerging qualitative methods, and you have a full tool kit from which to draw when designing qualitative solutions.
  • You stay current with therapeutic area knowledge, emerging trends in qualitative research, and strategies for communicating insights.
  • You’ve applied your moderating talents in the pharma industry for at least 5 years, and are at the point where clients specifically request you to moderate their projects.
  • You are motivated by helping companies understand the patient and HCP journey and applying that understanding to address business needs
  • You’ve developed deep qualitative experience across multiple disease states.
  • You’re looking for an opportunity that will provide you with opportunities to contribute to business development without being solely responsible for hitting a number.
  • You love having responsibility for synthesizing findings, developing a story and presenting results.

What would you do?

While these positions are focused on the pharmaceutical industry, you may occasionally have the opportunity to support clients in the health insurer, and health systems sectors as well. A majority of our qualitative engagements focus on disease state understanding, segmentation and persona development, patient and HCP journey, treatment pathways, core HCP messaging and patient positioning. The preferred candidate has depth of experience in one or more of these areas specifically with pharmaceutical clients. Experience and skill in oncology is a plus.

A few other key points…

As we bring two leading firms together, we are in the midst of an exciting time of new investment for our combined firms, leading to expansion of our markets and growth in the products and solutions that we take to market. In the coming months, we will have a new name and new brand materials, and solid marketing support to help explain our capabilities and re-introduce us to clients.

We have a very unique culture, and we all deeply enjoy the incredible colleagues that we get to work with on a daily basis. That’s paramount for every one of us, so we focus very strongly on hiring people that will fit in well with that culture. While we are looking for somebody with a strong individual skills and experience, your ability to collaborate with and get the best out of our exceptional people is going to be a big deciding factor.

We are a geographically dispersed organization with technical proficiency, so we are very flexible regarding your location, and comfortable with you working remotely. If you prefer to be situated near colleagues, we have US office locations in the Metro Detroit area (Livonia), Portland OR, and Cambridge MA. The team you’d work with is primarily based in Michigan.

If you like what you’ve heard so far, we’d like to hear from you!

Here are the responsibilities & qualifications we’re seeking in case you wish to have more detail.

  • Develop/co-develop and retain client relationships at multiple levels within clients’ organizations.
