SEM/SEO Specialist Job Summary/Company:
We are looking for a creative and savvy SEM/SEO Specialist with at least three (3) years of experience to join our growing marketing team. This is a great full-time, three (3) days a week remote, opportunity with a Financial Services company in Rockville, MD. The right candidate is a subject matter expert with an entrepreneurial spirit who is passionate about digital marketing and collaborating with a close-knit team to drive business growth. As a key member of the team, you will partner with the department manager to develop, execute, and manage marketing strategies related to search.

SEM/SEO Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Planning, launching, and optimizing PPC text and display advertising campaigns.
  • Hands-on and active management of accounts on paid search platforms (e.g. Google AdWords and Facebook). Continuously monitor, revise, test, and optimize to maximize performance.
  • Monitor budgets and adjust bids to enhance performance and ROMI.
  • Develop keyword lists and draft PPC ad copy in support of campaign strategies. Continuously monitor for new competitive keyword opportunities to drive inbound traffic.
  • Create and adjust ad extensions and business listings as needed.
  • Track KPIs to assess performance and pinpoint issues. Produce dashboards and reports for management regularly with recommendations for improvement.
  • Implement on-page and backend SEO for website and campaign landing pages including content, programming, familiarity with server configuration.
  • Monitor and report on search traffic and backlinks. Make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with marketing team members to develop and execute campaigns and content across multiple channels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SEM/SEO Specialist Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business administration or related field preferred, minimum of Associates degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in similar role required.
  • Proven experience successfully managing direct response search advertising campaigns and SEO initiatives that resulted in website traffic growth and qualified lead acquisition.
  • Industry experience in financial services and lending a plus.
  • Experience with paid affiliate partner recruitment marketing on digital channels a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Google AdWords, AdWords Editor, Google Analytics and Tag Manager, Yahoo/Bing Ads.
  • Experience with Facebook or other Social Media channel advertising a preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of current trends and best practices in PPC/SEM/SEO strategies and measurement including desktop, mobile, and voice search.
  • Experience in website and campaign landing page development, testing, and optimization preferred.
  • Experience with HTML and JavaScript coding.
  • Experience working with Drupal CMS preferred.
  • Proactive, self-starter who is able to work successfully both independently and collaborating as part of a small team.
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize work and manage time.
  • Excellent communication, copywriting, and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
