Experience

  • We require a minimum of 3-5 years of project engineering experience with packaging line, packaging automation, or facilities related projects in the operational environment.
  • Special consideration and preference will be given to candidates with engineering or operational experience in high speed bottling or packaging in the food, beverage, or consumer products industries.

Position Requirements/Responsibilities

  • The Project Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of project execution including system layout engineering, vendor/contractor management, equipment selection and procurement, schedule management, project finances, site management, and installation support.
  • Candidate will utilize sound time management skills as the simultaneous execution of multiple project management responsibilities is essential to success in this role.
  • Candidate will utilize good communication and interpersonal skills in performing the duties of the job.  Interaction with all levels of management, client, and vendors will be required, and maintaining and growing solid relationships is essential to this role.
  • Proven ability in the use of current software applications in the documentation, management, and design of projects is required.  Software tools to be utilized in performing the duties of this position include at a minimum Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and AutoCAD.

Education

BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering preferred, but consideration will be given to other engineering or technical degrees based on relevant experience.

Travel Requirements

40-60% travel will be required on a sporadic basis to support installation and start-up activities, and attend client and/or Design Group meetings.  The majority of this travel will be regional in New England.

Applying engineering techniques, assists in the improvement of manufacturing processes and products. Perform a wide variety of highly technical analysis of manufacturing methods, processes, workflow, time standard application, product quality and associated subjects. Perform a wide variety of highly technical analysis of manufacturing methods, processes, workflow, time standard application, product quality and associated subjects. Evaluate and recommend solutions to manufacturing problems and develop new processes and procedures based on broad knowledge of manufacturing methods and technology combined with in-depth knowledge of company products and procedures. Champion the philosophy of Lean manufacturing techniques and implementation throughout the plant and play an active role in continuous improvement.
