Primary Objective of Position:

Provide strategic and tactical leadership for white space market identification, research, and product development pertinent to the Micro Motion Sensor portfolio.  Under minimal direction, responsible for prioritizing white space research initiatives, providing early requirements and market guidance to technology and R&D teams, and owning projects through the product development stages.  Deliver marketing, channel, and operational strategy that will expand Micro Motion’s accessible market. Additionally, accountable for product ownership and marketing initiatives for established or in-work products targeting Food & Beverage, Life Sciences and Alternative Fuels market segments.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of white space market research, including third-party (vendor) relationship management, research budget management, cross-functional requirements development, and supporting product development cycle.
  • Organize and execute customer research studies, interviews, research reports, and consolidated learnings.
  • Champion incremental business opportunities in industry and markets beyond Micro Motion’s core business segments.
  • Contribution to sensor roadmap, including an outline of key strategies, appraisal of different business opportunities, and prioritized one-year, near-term, and long-term action plan regarding industry expansion.
  • Drive alignment between Marketing roadmap and Engineering R&D initiatives.
  • Build cross-functional and cross-Business Unit relationships to consider alignment with holistic Emerson portfolio objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategies for maximizing Sales Channel and Operations effectiveness in relation to proposed new product development.
  • Utilize a comprehensive buy, build, or partner analysis to propose optimal go-to-market strategy for new business opportunities.
  • Integrate “painted door test” and other agile market analysis techniques to substantiate prioritization of initiatives and expedite time-to-market.
  • Accountable for Product Marketing ownership of establish Coriolis products in assigned market segment (e.g. F&B, LS, Alt Fuels).


  • Knowledge of market research techniques and capturing Voice-of-Customer inputs
  • In-depth knowledge of flow measurement equipment, process instrumentation control, digital communication, or electronic process instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of the process industries and process control industry. 
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of successfully executed new product development projects, product promotion initiatives, or customer research.
  • Strong knowledge of the functions and responsibilities within a marketing organization. 
  • Demonstrated ability in long-term strategic planning and in executing a strategic plan through tactical achievement.
  • Understanding of strategic planning process and the role of marketing and industry marketing within the process is a plus.
  • Familiarity with a variety of digital marketing disciplines including web trends, online communication approaches, B2B digital strategies, and email/permission marketing.
  • Understands customer needs in key segments and can translate these needs into successful marketing programs that drive revenue growth.
  • Excellent oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including excellent ability to write, edit and proofread content for different audiences.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization to meet milestones.


  • 5 years of relevant post graduate work experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience performing market research or customer interviews
  • Experience with industrial process and control instrumentation.
  • New product development, product management and strategic planning experience preferred.


  • B.S. Degree is required.
  • B.S. Degree in technical or business discipline is preferred. 
  • MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the salary range for this role is $79,000 – $123,600 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to this role.
