Our government client is looking for a Master Communication Specialist or their location in are code Houston , TX 77054.

POSITION SUMMARY

Serves as webmaster for certain websites, blogs and social media. This includes help with design and layout of web pages and corresponding flyers/brochures/etc. Responsible for creating, organizing and managing content for mass media and various websites. Responds to daily request to update content, including arranging and rearranging website design and posting on social media. Assist in editing CSD programmatic materials. Assist in organizing various events to increase public awareness of CSD programs and/or recent developments. Propose and manage advertising and multiple communications platforms. Helps to foster relationship internally and externally by monitoring and responding to emails, messaging and requests from various media outlets. Provides social media training to staff. Assist in preparation of quarterly metric reports to determine effectiveness of communications efforts and pinpoint areas needing improvement.

Stays abreast of programming trends and offers recommendations, available options and possibilities. Available from time to time to assist department staff needing technical assistance with Microsoft and other technical issues that may arise.

The position reports to the Assistant Director of Public Information.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree preferred or a minimum of two years of customer service and have experience following policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a working knowledge of SharePoint and WordPress, HTML and Internet Protocol.
  • Working knowledge of regulations and guidelines for federally compliant website communication.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Forms.
  • Must posses the skill to compose written reports, documents and correspondence.
  • Capability to execute special projects.
  • Ability to comply with written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, county officials and the public.
  • Meet deadlines and work efficiently.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assists with designing and creation of websites, blogs, and other forms of mass media.
  • Assists in the preparation of a variety of written reports through writing, editing and formatting as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues pertaining to website uploads and content management
  • Responds to general and specific technical information request generated through mail and telephone contact.
  • Prepares written reports at the direction of the supervisor.
  • Attends meetings relevant to nature of work as needed.
  • Meets deadlines and prioritizes assignments.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives supervision from the deputy assistant director.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The work requires traveling to re-certifications, de-activations and training events or meetings.
  • The work normally is performed in an office setting, as well as client’s homes and RV/MHU parks.
  • Safety precautions include wearing a safety hat and using protective gear as needed.
