Working independently, the Omnichannel Online Acquisition Manager manages customer acquisition and online marketing for GameStop’s digital initiatives to profitably grow site traffic. The role is responsible for managing paid search, search engine optimization, display advertising, the affiliate program, and screening potential online marketing vendors.  Associate will interact with his or her supervisor as frequently as desired by either. Most activities may be performed without a supervisor’s advance approval.


  • Manage search engine marketing initiatives including paid search and SEO
  • Ensure that programs achieve ROI objectives and stay within allocated budget
  • Manage daily communication with paid search and SEO agencies
  • Lead cross-functional teams that include IT, Content, Creative, Marketing, Merchandising, etc. to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across digital properties
  • Manage online promotion calendar including planning and coordination of promotions.
  • Maintain and grow the Linkshare affiliate marketing program.  Includes sourcing, evaluating and recruiting new affiliate partners and conceptualizing online-only promotions
  • Maintain relationships with affiliates and other partners as well as motivating partners and providing support to enable them to improve campaign performance
  • Negotiate and review affiliate advertising agreements (rates, placements, parameters, etc.)
  • Manage the creative development and execution to support affiliate marketing efforts (including copywriting and providing art direction and technical specifications)
  • Generate campaign performance reports, providing performance analysis and executing on that analysis to ensure positive ROI
  • Understand and analyze acquisition results and make use of this intelligence to inform future business decisions
  • Screen potential online marketing vendors to determine if there is a justifiable business case for moving forward
  • Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Develop team capability through direct or indirect hiring, scheduling, coaching, directing, and retaining of top talent
  • Make presentations to audiences of varied organizational responsibility and technical expertise
  • Stay current on industry best practices
  • Seek networking opportunities with non-competing organizations to share ideas
  • Manage projects satisfactorily in an environment with rapidly evolving and potentially overlapping priorities

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university required; marketing major preferred
  • At least five years of e-commerce experience required with proven results of profitably increasing site traffic


  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and Word; expert level knowledge of Excel required
  • Proficient knowledge of methods to generate traffic to the website including paid search, SEO, affiliate, and display advertising
  • Expert analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with spoken and written English, including the ability to provide clear feedback to others
  • Proficient data analysis skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient knowledge of web analytics tools and analysis methods
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Proficient understanding of essential leadership skills including the ability to hire, develop, direct, and retain top talent; to provide behavior-based feedback constructively; the ability to create and communicate clear, relevant goals; and to create a working environment that encourages diverse and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Ability to work under demanding time constraints and production goals
  • Demonstrated capacity to operate and work effectively within a novel and changing environment
  • Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
