Job Summary

The Executive Communications Advisor will develop and execute executive communications on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) that align with Sanford’s business objectives, educate, connect and inspire leaders and employees, and serve the organization’s brand and reputation goals. This role will work closely with the office of the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, as well as cross-functionally within the marketing team. Manages the CEO's executive communications portfolio to support of Sanford Health's business priorities, mission, vision and values. Maintains a daily briefing process for the CEO that includes coordinating scripted remarks, key messages and talking points for internal meetings and public engagements as necessary. In partnership with the communications team, develops a wide range of executive communications in support of marketing strategies, including employee emails, presentations, speeches, talking points, video scripts, and blog posts, among others. Manages communications from the CEO to the Board of Trustees, to include drafting weekly updates and materials for routine committee meetings, as well as quarterly board meetings. Manages CEO correspondence for internal and external stakeholders, including tracking and follow up. Develops and posts opportunistic content for CEO social media profiles, including LinkedIn and Twitter, in partnership with the social media team. Provides on-site support as needed for executive engagements. Works calmly and maintains good judgment in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Must have a leadership mindset, professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, agility and the ability to effectively influence, partner and collaborate with key stakeholders and executives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field is required. Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s degree in communications or related field is preferred.

Minimum of seven years relevant communication and/or writing experience, preferably in a large and complex corporate setting, is required.
