Job Summary:

This position requires a strong understanding of social media trends and digital technologies. The ideal candidate is a hyper-creative enthusiast who can strategize and guide the development of both long-term and in-the-moment campaigns from concept through implementation, working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. This role partners closely with various corporate departments, regional teams and supports the markets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. CONTENT MANAGEMENT:  50%

•        Oversees the planning, development, curation, and distribution of 1st and 3rd party content for Mary Kay’s global social channels including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat, etc., and corporate blog. Also, oversee Mary Kay Foundation social media channels, website and blog.

•        Develops big ideas and continuous testing culture.

•        Collaborates with SEO team to perform keyword and theme research in coordination with business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities.

•        Works with Mary Kay Foundation grant recipients to increase valuable .edu backlinks driving to Mary Kay properties.

•        Provides SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with SEO team to determine elements and structure of websites and web pages to maximize reach efforts.

•        Helps to create and support digital and social media content to socialize and use for social media purposes (e.g. customer videos, customer case studies, blog posts, posts from sales reps and customers).

•        Provides assets for sales force social media pages from global corp comm campaigns.

•        Develops and expands community and/or influencer outreach efforts.

•        Analyzes campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising social media, content marketing, SEO and social advertising campaigns.

2. STRATEGY:  35%

•        Continuously evolves global social media and global influencer strategy to increase Mary Kay’s brand awareness, familiarity and consideration.

•        Reports on all developments in the social media landscape while being able to provide a POV on how to best incorporate them into our current strategy when relevant.

•        Uses data to inform strategic decisions.

•        Develops an SEO strategy based on keyword research and inbound terms.

•        Provides recommendations and execute/manage strategies for content development in coordination with SEO goals – general and keyword specific.

•        Develops, manages and executes communication/content strategies via social communities in coordination with cross functional business goals.

•        Manages and sets editorial digital strategy so content is consistent and compelling across all delivery streams.

•        Tests new social media platforms to keep Mary Kay top of mind and relevant.

COLLABORATION & SUPPORT:  10%

•        Supervises and oversees engagements with outside agencies.  Provides strategic direction for and manages execution of digital and docial media plans under direction of Director, Global Corporate Communications, Media Relations & Crisis Management. Manages communication with agency, budget and outreach programs with regard to general-market media.
