Digital Communications Marketing Specialist

The Digital Communications Marketing Specialist will:

  • Thrive working independently with little supervision, but also love being a part of a team and have a team-first attitude. You’ll work closely with all members of the Marketing team.
  • Think “member first” being able to maintain an empathetic stance toward the pain points of our members and keep an outsider’s perspective.
  • Be a go-getter; not afraid to take control of projects, ask questions, or provide feedback or suggestions to improve processes and workflows. You enjoy finding new and better ways of doing things.

  • Have the ability to develop a thorough understanding of credit union/banking industry specific marketing and applicable federal and state compliance regulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective project management, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

 Content Development

  • The successful candidate will be a strong writer and creative storyteller who is experienced in creating engaging content to be shared across digital channels, including: email, blog, website, and social media. 
  • Owns and manages the company blog and digital editorial/content calendar keeping business goals, buyer personas, and member engagement and education in mind.
  • Plan, coordinate, execute, and monitor website content to improve readability, ensure accurateness of information, and leverage SEO strategies.
  • Assist with the development of web optimized ad copy, for banners, calls-to-action, landing pages, etc.
  • Contributes copy to various outbound campaigns, such as: online ads, paid search, and display campaigns, etc.
  • Ensures all content and efforts are on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, as well as optimized for SEO where applicable. Should use excellent copy-editing skills, ensuring proper use of grammar and spelling.
  • Promotes and support events via email, web, and social media through the development of engaging event messaging and supporting collateral.
  • Studies the competitive landscape to develop copy that is differentiated in the market and brand-appropriate. 
  • Stay abreast of web and accessibility standards; regularly review and analyze company digital offerings to ensure alignments with best practices and trends.

 Email Marketing

  • Owns and manages the email marketing calendar, including the coordination and development of assets, such as: content, audience lists, graphics, calls-to-action, and landing pages.
  • Leverages email marketing tools to develop transactional, promotional, and informational content strategies that maximize customer retention, lead nurturing, and up-sell programs.
  • Evaluates new email approaches, competitive benchmarking, best practices, new technology, and vendor capabilities to identify opportunities to improve email relevance, customer engagement, and sales.
  • Segments lists based on behaviors and website interactions (content downloads, site page visits, etc.).
  • Stays current on email marketing best practices, industry standards, and CAN-SPAM compliance.
