The Cardiovascular & Specialty Solutions (CSS) Group, part of the Medical Devices sector within Johnson & Johnson, is recruiting for a Strategic Support Leader to be located in Irvine, CA.

The CSS Group consists of five diverse businesses including Acclarent, Biosense Webster, Cerenovus, Mentor, and Sterilmed. The CSS Group serves a diverse base of customers in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Electrophysiology, Surgical and Non-Surgical Aesthetics, Neurovascular, and Reprocessing and is committed to delivering innovative products, solutions and programs to address unmet customer and patient needs around the world.

 

The CSS Strategic Support Leader will be responsible for leading the development, deployment, and implementation of CSS global operations strategies to drive significant change through network optimization, and other key opportunities, aligned to the strategic plan. This role will lead the CSS Business Planning and G&Os process, Network Strategy Development, and provide business support to the CSS SC Leader and LT while driving strong governance across the CSS SCLT. This role operates across the different CSS franchises to ensure the strategy is developed and consistently reviewed while having programs in place to sustain and drive innovation. This leader will report to the CSS SC Strategy, Innovation & Deployment leader, and will be working in strong partnership with Johnson and Johnson MD Supply Chain SI&D team. This role is critical in influencing across the matrixed organization and collaborates with other E2E business leaders, functional partners and other Supply Chain leaders to ensure alignment with goals and priorities.

Responsibilities: Strategy Development & Deployment

  • Gather business and E2E SC inputs, external trends, understand SC implications and capability needs, identify initiatives and priorities aligned with strategic focus/ framework, define investment roadmap and financial projections (e.g. NCC, cost actions, etc.)
  • Develop annual SC G&Os based on strategic plan & priorities, capability needs and business focus areas, deploy G&Os across the org, pulse progress and report out
  • Coordinate and support the Business Planning process for the E2E SC – deploy targets, ensure timely submission of inputs, facilitate reviews and prepare content to support leadership discussions & alignment
  • Lead the development and deployment, as needed, of SC Strategic initiatives and programs that span across CSS, and that may be linked to broader MD and Enterprise initiatives

Network Strategy

  • Develop a network strategy thru initial data collection, identification of potential scenarios, connection of scenarios with overarching segment strategy and secure endorsement of key stakeholders
  • Develop project charter, build initial project team, set project timeline, prepare and provide a business case for the suggested idea/ network optimization strategy to support a go/no-go decision
  • Further develop the project business case, deep dive to confirm and refine benefits, and prepare a CAR package (e.g. financials, implementation plan, change management, QA and RA strategy, resource planning, risk assessment, etc.) to support a funding request and approval

SCLT Strategic Support

  • Deploy and execute the SCLT governance, including: meeting calendars and cadence, issue agenda, gather and track action items
  • Build the SCLT calendar incorporating inputs from the Enterprise and business calendars and meeting cadence, as well as key team meetings, and adjust as required
  • Plan and facilitate monthly and quarterly F2F meetings, gather, organize and share content through team’s SharePoint

Supply Chain Innovation

  • Support enterprise supply chain Innovation governance process
  • Collaborate with business partners to identify and prioritize unmet business and customer needs
  • Partner with Functional and E2E leaders to develop scalable solutions for prioritized initiatives and integrate final solutions into CSS project portfolio.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree within Supply Chain, Engineering or a related area is required. An Advanced degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Supply Chain and/or Strategic Planning is required
  • Experience leading preparation for and execution of business planning process is required
  • Leadership, Global Thinking, Strategic Thinking (through execution), Managing Change, Project Management, Customer Focus is required
  • Demonstrated experience in running large-scale projects in a matrix format is required
  • Prior experience in designing and deploying productivity improvement initiatives is required
  • Executive stakeholder management & the ability to collaborate and communicate optimally with all levels of management and influence decision-making across a global, matrix, supply chain organization is required
  • Experience in supply chain strategy role is preferred
  • Experience as a Multi-Plant Manager and/or End to End Supply Lead is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating processes within J&J is preferred
  • Process Excellence, Six Sigma black belt, and/or PMP certifications or the understanding of the process excellence tool set (LEAN, Six Sigma) with a consistent track record of deploying these tools to improve operational performance is preferred
  • This position will be located in Irvine, CA and may require up to 10% domestic and international travel
