Summary:

The Content Marketing Director will be responsible for the development and execution of a content strategy across all of Global Payments owned channels. The successful candidate will define the content strategy, write and edit content initiatives specific to the businesses and product, and be responsible for a focused communication relative to our businesses, product and brand profile. The successful candidate will work closely with product, business and marketing leaders on core messaging, positioning and value proposition as well as CRM on content to acquire new customers and engage existing, and digital marketing on placement and overall SEM and SEO.

Job Details:

This position designs and executes the content strategy at a corporate level as well as product and business unit levels leveraging product releases, competitive repositioning, customer acquisition and data insights via positive placements on owned channels through social media, email campaigns, web & blog content, and overall SEO. Ideal candidates will have a proven record in both high-level, global, strategic vision and hands-on execution, with a distinctive editorial and written aptitude.

The Content Marketing Director has the drive and determination to manage multiple initiatives; create and execute initiatives on time and displays the innovativeness to be successful in all areas of owned media.

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communications and storytelling skills (especially forward-focused given the technological transformation of our business) and have experience in shaping, developing and leading a corporate communication strategy. The Director will manage the budgets for their area of responsibility and will create and communicate reports to measure and optimize results.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with the SVP of Marketing, and leadership team to develop communications strategies in support of long-term business goals, both financial and customer.
  • Leverage customer segmentation and needs analysis as key inputs into the communication strategy and the development of key themes targeting priority audiences and partners.
  • Lead the overall editorial calendar and associated processes with key stakeholders to ensure a consistent and effective communication strategy across all customer touchpoints. Includes: working with product teams, business units and appropriate internal partners (IR, Corporate Affairs, Internal Communications and others) to ensure that communications plans/tactics continue to be aligned with business needs.
  • Ensure the delivery and execution of the content calendar and produce high-quality, shareable, and unique content across a variety of platforms.
  • Increase audience and engagement with the community across platform and content type.
  • Increase organic customer acquisition through social media channels, blog, and SEO-oriented content.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of brand voice across platforms and mediums.
  • Provide editorial oversight and coaching for content curation within the businesses including development and execution of local editorial calendars.
  • Manage budget and goal setting.
  • Build and track benchmarks for measuring success and ROI. Implement new tools and processes for effective creation and measurement of content.
  • Report monthly and quarterly on content performance and optimizations.
  • Provide presentations and assets for various departments as needed.
  • Provide communications support and guidance to the product, business and regional marketing and leadership team.
  • Work closely with marketing counterparts for a supporting and cohesive CRM, content and digital strategy including SEO, SEM, website, social, and thought leadership content creation and optimization.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in a communications role, including an in-house role with a fintech or SaaS company, experience ideally within a publicly traded company.
  • Proven experience in innovating and optimizing products & offerings for an enhanced consumer experience and engagement; including writing compelling and engaging content, measuring and optimizing outcomes.
  • Leadership experience supervising editorial, content marketing, and social media teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and deliver on KPIs in support of business growth.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Includes strong storytelling, writing, and editorial skills. Highly effective at distilling complex and often voluminous content into clear, concise and engaging communications.

  • Ability to interface and build strong relationships with internal and external teams
  • A leader who will educate others on best practices through coaching and development of playbooks
  • A collaborator who knows when to gain input and share information and when to execute and get results
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through communications activities
  • Ability to work productively in a cross-functional as well as a small team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
