The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for taking a holistic view of Market Research, Products, Integrated Marketing Communications, Sales, Channels, Public Relations, and Pricing to ensure Customer Experience and Communications align with the Bank’s overall goals and desired ROI and KPIs.  This role will define marketing strategies to support the Bank’s overall strategies and objectives for all traditional and digital marketing (website, SEO, SEM, email and strategy) efforts. The CMO is responsible for the development and recruitment of a highly efficient team of marketing professionals with the talent necessary to successfully execute on all digital marketing efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Develops a fully integrated marketing approach for all traditional (Print, Radio, Direct Mail, TV, etc.) and digital marketing strategy plan, which includes SEO, Organic, PPC, Social, Website, A/B Testing - including execution, tracking and monitoring.

2.    Creates strategic marketing direction that favorably promotes all services and products of the Bank within budget and according to the Bank’s policies and procedures.

3.    Aligns Bank’s brand to be consistent through each channel and employees. Directs customer and public communications to consistently promote the Bank’s brand message and community commitment.

4.    Develops and recruits a highly efficient team of marketing professionals with the talent necessary to successfully execute on all digital marketing efforts.

5.    Provides strategy and support for bank-wide digital banking customer adoption initiatives.  

6.    Develops and obtains all customer analytics, lead generation analytics (website analytics, social media analytics, SEO, email, channel), and competition analytics.  Analyzes the data to make critical decisions.

7.    Manages social media and content strategy according to compliance and brand expectations. Manages website content, strategy and design.

8.    Establishes and monitors budgets. Analyzes and controls all costs associated with the Bank’s marketing campaigns. Identifies areas for potential cost reductions whenever possible.

9.    Develops and works with lines of business on CX & Customer Journey Mapping process.

10.    Collaborates on Product Strategy and Development for retail, commercial, mortgage & treasury. 

11.    Creates and develops reporting and analytics for monthly dashboard, KPI's and ROI models.

12.    Coordinates internal and public communication of Company Foundation activities.

13.    Negotiates with media partners to guarantee advantageous contracts.

14.    Provides coaching, guidance, leadership and expertise to staff. Creates development opportunities and ensures necessary training and tools are provided. Ensure timely and meaningful performance management is administered to all team members.

15.    Utilizes CRM to create user journeys and use multichannel campaigns to build relationships.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•    A leader with both strong creative and analytical capabilities.

•    Solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods.

•    Demonstrable experience in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all marketing aspects (branding, product promotion etc.).

•    Ability to apply marketing techniques over digital (e.g. social media) and non-digital (e.g. press) channels.

•    Working knowledge of relevant software systems.

•    Thorough understanding of banking/financial products and services.

•    Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities.

•    Ability to lead and drive collaboration among team members.

•    Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiar with marketing software applications.

•    Ability to manage relationships and influence outcomes. 

•    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

•    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience & Education

•    Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Business Administration or related field required. Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

•    Minimum 10 years’ experience with strategic corporate planning with a focus on marketing expansion and business development for a financial institution or similar organization. 

•    Demonstrated experience successfully developing and implementing sales, data analytics and digital marketing strategies as they apply to the financial services industry.

•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role.

•    Digital marketing certifications (e.g., Google Analytics & AdWords) preferred.

•    Frequent external contacts with marketing companies, media contacts, etc.
