Job Description

This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Standards Act (FLSA).

Seeking an AEGIS Computer Operator to support the Navy mission on the Combat Systems Support (CSS) contract in the Data Analysis Center (DAC) at Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island Virginia.

General duties include:
- Receiving, cataloging, storing, formatting, compiling and electronic transfer of recorded classified technical data in all forms
- Customer Service is a major element of this position, with daily interaction with internal and external engineering/technical personnel.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Initialization of DAC equipment
- Processing of all requisite tactical media
- Distribution of all essential data to multiple Land Based Test Sites (LBTS) in accordance with site direction, customer requests and data routing expectations.
- Receiving and organization of received tactical system loads, patches, tactical data, analysis tools, etc.
- Use of Windows-based programs such as Linux/REDHAT and Unix commands to process media


Required Skills and Education

Typical education and relevant/related work experience: High School Diploma/GED or an Associate's Degree in a technical or computer related discipline in lieu of experience with AEGIS Combat Systems. Demonstrated experience loading and maintaining program/project electronic media. Initializing and operating DAC equipment using established procedures in a multi-element complex computing suite environment.

Security Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a final DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and delayed start date, until an interim Secret clearance is granted.


Preferred Skills and Education

Highly desired, but not required:
- Previous AEGIS Computer Operator experience
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
- Military experience
- Information Security Certifications
- Experience with UNIX and Linux
- Experience with ACCESS and TRMS
